Peter Caravette

About Publisher Peter Caravette:
As a comic book publisher, Peter Caravette feels his position has to be one of the most interesting and enjoyable of his professional career.

"I've met a lot of nice people from all over the world and have worked with some of the biggest names in the business. Most of the experience has been really nice and I've made some good friends along the way. It's extremely exciting and rewarding to see a project you've spent months putting together slowly brought to life. Just seeing your vision put to paper by the penciler, embellished by the inker, and finally beautified by the colorist, is a process I still find quite amazing."

Although he has been publishing comics since 1994, Caravette admits to never having set foot in a comic book store before 1990.   He recalls taking his sons David and Adam to a comic store back then to buy 'Dragon Lore' and 'Dr. Fate.'  "I'd never even heard of those books before. I was floored when I saw the #1 issue of my boyhood hero 'Iron Man' hanging above the counter for a hundred bucks.  I couldn't believe a comic could be worth that much money!   I ended up walking out of that store with a number of Independent comic books including, 'The Crow' #1 for only twenty-five cents.  I was especially taken in by the idea of a self publisher having his books sold alongside great superheroes like Spiderman and Batman."  It wasn't long before Caravette set up shop as an independent publisher and has outlasted most of the companies he brought home in that stack of books back in 1990.

Currently, Caravette has been working to bring the Dinosaur back to life and capture the imagination of youngsters all over the world both old and young.

"There are millions of people who find the age of dinosaurs totally fascinating. Probably every parent at one time or another found themselves trying to reassure a frightened child at night that 'monsters' don't exist. But these monsters were real and would have been a nightmare for even the bravest of men. I get scared just looking at Rich's drawings. That's about as close to real as I want them to get."

About Samson Comics:
Samson Comics has been around since 1995 when Billy Tucci did the first cover for our premiere book, Samson ½.  We didn't know then that we were supposed to fizzle out and disappear like most companies of the time.   We liked the idea of creator owned projects back then and artists seemed more motivated to draw them so that's what we focused on. Unfortunately, wanting to draw and actually sitting down to draw are like two sides of a coin for most young artists.
However, we have had several success stories.  We have some distinguished alumni such as  Ale Garza (Eve:Protomecha and Ninja Boy) and Philip Xavier (Legendlore).  We've had some big name artists contribute covers to our company such as Billy Tucci, Kevin Conrad, Humberto Ramos, Brandon Peterson, Dwayne Turner, Greg Capullo and Danny Miki.
In four years of publishing we've put out 10 different titles.  We also put out two specials, the aforementioned "Samson 1/2" and "Samson 97" which featured Lou Ferrigno (Mr. Universe and The Incredible Hulk) as Samson on the Cover.  Lou was also our guest at the Wizard World Comic Con that year and generated quite a bit of excitement for Samson fans.  Samson's goal at this point is now to focus on properties that have the potential to go the distance and have strong tie-ins to other aspects of the entertainment industry.  We are a more business oriented company that aspires to be more professional and hire professional people who can put together an outstanding product.  This will allow us to attract serious investors and more easily market our product.
We are still a small company, but a more mature company, with more realistic expectations and a better game plan.  We are as motivated and enthusiastic as the day we started but with the wisdom and understanding of the comic market that comes with time and experience. Thanks to the friendship and encouragement of Kevin Conrad, the unselfishness and dedication of Rich Bonk and the willingness and helpfulness of Todd Broeker we just might have something special here in Nanosaur.
We hope you will enjoy your adventure into the World of the "Nanosaur!"
